these headers are going to ignore that granblue UnF exists
I beat Pokemon Card GB1 on the train yesterday; total clocked playtime is about 6 hours, plus or minus a little for use of fast forward / save states.
still a nice little game even today, though I wonder if I understood the haymaker strategy way back when I was young and poured hours into collecting every card. I feel like the GB1 meta is mostly "go fast deal damage maintain tempo" but I mean that's just good TCG learning in general maybe. I definitely did not run this much energy removal as a kid
funniest thing is that I beat the last rival fight by just letting him draw his entire deck because his deck spams a draw-1 kangaskhan in combination with moltres (grab 1-4 fire energy from deck) and the typical draw trainers. he keeps kangaskhan out to tank while he sets up all his attackers but never really attacks with it so you just kind of ... sit there and win a 0-prize match while the spectators groan.
next up is GB2 (in Japanese). hoping the game has a liiiitle more story substance since GB1 is very lightweight for better and worse. For example, I watched a JaidenAnimations video on Pokemon Ranger recently and that one sounds like it has character for sure (and touchscreen damage)
I also want to look at a Simple2000 series game that Hilltop translated and I will leave the title of the game as a surprise for those of you who click the link
you know about okayama but do you know ookayama
went to Yokohama today to play a walk-around type SCRAP game. these are always more relaxed than the timer-based ones and generally simpler, but it's fun to go around and have a light puzzley time. chinatown in yokohama is realllllly crowded though at all times (and unlike the last time I was here, there were no random Judgment cosplayers chilling)
met the cat robot again at a family restaurant. it plays more upbeat music at this one so I wonder if it's customizable. gonna buy one and have it blast a rickroll as it delivers customers their pizza
project update but I now have two side dev projects that aren't Indie Dev I want to work on so that makes four things I can tell myself I want to do every day
