- i talk a little bit about my election feelings despite not really trying to
- sonic frontiers tweets copied from twitter
i managed to quarantine twitter for most of the day during the Continual Event that is the american electoral system, but my guard slipped over the afternoon, eventually culminating into dropping into a pit of "extremely online left gen z election analysis twitter", and I gotta say - they were dancing

there won't be full election results until after you've finally figured out which scarlet/violet starter evolution you like, but the overall vibe I'm taking away is "it still feels bad that 40% of people will vote for the most outwardly hateful person you know - but it feels relieving on some level to know that Normies, more than anything else, probably just want politicians to stop yelling at them about stuff"
I tried to crystallize a few more thoughts about this but I'm over time limit trying to convey additional feelings in a way that doesn't sound anxiety-inducing so I'm just going to say it's surreal seeing the democrat 2016 reactionbook on full display from republicans, including blaming 3rd parties, blaming turnout, and blaming the candidates.
their fault for trying to run someone who said "tell everyone to vote before the Steelers game" on a Steelers bye week tbqh.
light speed dash is r3 btw, they don't tell you
anyway whoops I'm out of time so I'm going to copy my day 1 sonic frontiers opinions from twitter
- oh my god the sonic frontiers JP script diverges from the EN script so hard lmao that's so sonic
- cyber stage music is super hot btw
- sonic frontiers does "trying to do an open world" game thing accurately by having comically lopsided tutorial placement. just tons of gameplay loops placed without explanations and then tutorialized an hour later after you already guessed it.
- worst ui decision award: I think the "required currency" displays in the world are relative, because I keep asking why it tells me I need 0 of this collectible to progress and it just clicked to me that I might be beating the game's curve. meanwhile I still can't find where to spend my Level Up Dollars
- delivered Collectibles and got cold dropped into a sheep herding minigame. beating it surprised me with a chaos emerald, which sonic grabbed with a dance and musical number. this is the shit I live for
overall opinion so far: I have, intentionally or not, figured out how to weaponize "it's a Sonic game" to improve my enjoyment of a game. it's broken but it's not boring
