i make indie games

unvoiced 2* in a tokyo apartment trying to weld end-of-service anime characters into playstation 1 party games

spoons very low over the last 48 hours, so I will scroll down my twitter to remember what I was thinking and doing yesterday

i'm actually playing pokemon tcg 2 right now
with the announcement of Sports Story releasing on the Switch in December, I'm up to three Big Me indie games I'm excited to hopefully carve time for (the other two being Sunshine Shuffle and the belated Potionomics). this inspired me yesterday to make a list of the Big Me games from 2022 so far:

Tier 1:

  • The entire mainline Kirby series
  • Dungeon Encounters
  • Rune Factory 4
  • Driver: San Francisco
  • doozyj.megane-moe.com

Tier 2:

  • SteamWorld: Dig 2
  • Atelier Rorona
  • Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold
  • Vampire Survivors

pokemon tcg 2 makes me think about sakurai's video note about compressing kanji into low-res consoles
Fortnite is also just barely off the bottom of this list. I love Fall Guys conceptually, promotionally, and adorably - but Fortnite, for all its Super Game Behemoth superhero movie energy, is just a fantastic physics engine to do comedy in. There is no substitute for spontaneously deciding to car joust with someone, only to find out your pickup truck launches off wedge-shaped sports cars like a ramp.

new Jon Bois / Dorktown video today! I haven't started it yet as I am not investing enough time in Granblue grinding but you bet I'm excited.
