i'm waiting for my work mac to update, no one convert their local time to japan time right now
video games part A
I've been playing through Pokemon Card GB2 (in Japanese) to contrast it with the first one and the one thing I wanna say about it the most so far is that you talk to a gym trainer who says "can you beat this member of Team Great Rocket and get our leader's stuff back" and gives a free deck named "Screw That Guy From Team Great Rocket Specifically" (まけろ! GR2ごうデッキ)
however for Commute Games I am considering switching to Bravely Default based on this tweet from Minovsky, who, based on my track record of Dungeon Encounters, I align with greatly in terms of "finds similar mechanical feels in JRPGs fun to tweet about". everyone sound off in the comments about this
other than that, yesterday I got all my ffxiv crafters to 90, as I would. I'm excited to get my warrior to 80 for the last big power boost, and then I can like. Do story. I promise. Once I hit warrior 90 I might actually stop throwing an hour into trivial roulettes every day
video games part B (it was actually just chain restaurants)
mcdonalds stopped carrying their cool garlic & pepper chicken that I like, and kfc stopped carrying their red hot chicken that my friend likes, and I am strongly considering that we have just consumed the entire city's worth of chicken (this is actually true in the case of kfc, which is pausing their limited menu for two weeks while they reload).
I got a takeout pizza from saizeriya yesterday, which comes in entertainingly (and presumably cost-cuttingly) minimal packaging compared to domino's. if I had to review it, I'd say that saizeriya doesn't feel right to eat outside of a saizeriya. you need that slightly unhinged "I am at a saizeriya" energy to flavor it.
can't explain how this doesn't hold up in America where I would constantly get a million calories of denny's and red robin takeout and enjoy it greatly. I think it's the lack of cheesesticks here (domino's has an offer where you could get a medium pizza and two orders of cheesesticks for like 1500y or so but it's just not a good value). stay tuned if you ever want to hear me tell you about the three places in japan you can get mozz sticks
