got a quite early shinkansen home today because all shinkansen seats are booked unless you get out of town before 8 AM (not too hard for me, to be honest)

the Variety Show Hotel Experience continued into the new year. of note today is a show that involves celebrities attempting to discern high-value products (expensive beef, for example) from cheaper ones, with increasing amounts of humiliation over the course of the show as they continue to make mistakes, until they are drinking water from dog bowls and, finally, edited out in post-production altogether (one would argue this is less embarrassing).
typing that sentence though, it really makes you think about what it is saying about the 8000y wagyu beef though. (YOSHIKI has gotten every question right since the dawn of time, to the point where he gets special treatment, so who knows)
there's also a 24/7 Takarazuka channel on TV here. I am voted "person who you highly expect to be into Takarazuka", but I am not yet, probably because I would get annihilated by the language barrier. they are performing Casino Royale in 2023 though.
went to Kobe and Sannomiya very briefly today and looked at the Fate Bridge and ate some banger katsu curry (this is an approximation of "wow Kobe beef is a lot of effort and money and also social, let's not"), then played a SCRAP escape game out here that is not currently in Tokyo.
it was a death-game themed escape game, which is fun because I have read a lot of fukumoto and enjoy EDM (shoutouts to a theme song titled STALEMATE IN JUSTICE or similar). I'm both proud and disappointed that I achieved new levels of "I beat it, but I didn't beat it", even by SCRAP standards, with my three crown jewels over the last few years being
- got the correct answer, but didn't perform the trivial action needed to submit it
- submitted the correct answer after time was up
- got the correct answer but after I had irrevocably submitted the almost-correct answer
pride, but also shame.
ok I gotta roll some granblue, I was gonna skip spark due to having the do-it-all rabbit already, but gachapin handed me 80 rolls (1.3% odds) lmao
