I feel you, any art video that talks about "Just find what you need to work on and study that!" and I'm like "THAT'S EVERYTHING BRO!" you can't just point to the mountain and say baby steps when there's a million paths up and I'm paralyzed by choice.

If nothing else I like your 5min, they're dynamic but still structurally sound ๐Ÿคญ if you need a direction, do anatomy studies ^-^ (not because of any fault I found, I'm just doing anatomy rn so that's just the person by your side telling you what to do)

I find studying so paralyzing too. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ I hattteee studying off of photos or life drawing. I always feel worse afterwards.

If it's okay to share, what I've found more helpful & motivating than just studying off photos: !

  • This volume of MORPHO, but I switch between the others as well.

  • Looking at artists who's anatomy is visible, well defined, and I like the stylization of! I really like brekkist and Yuto Sano.

And just looking at photos & anatomy as I need it instead of sitting & studying in one go. I've also found picking random photos off Pinterest or collecting them on my phone to then pose OCs or fanart with them is more motivating/fun than trying to be realistic with it. All a bit slower for improving than traditional life drawing but bigger dopamine hit lolol.

Alternatively or conjunctively I'll sometimes dedicate each week in a month to certain body parts: limbs, torso, head, hands & feet -then dedicate 2-3 days to specifics within that, so maybe limbs: arms vs leg vs buttocks or torso: back, chest, hips/abs etc. Very rare that I bother with this bc I just can't hold my attention to it and always go off course and feel worse for it lmao.

Sorry for being long and unwarranted but I hope this helps!! PS + extra link: My Anatomy pinboard is an unorganized mess but also has stylized anatomy from a bunch of different artists. I find working backwards (studying how other artists do anything before studying the same thing from a photo or life) a looot less stressful.

:eggbug-classic:

I also have a hard time keeping up with a routine ๐Ÿ˜ญ wish I had the diligence to keep a study schedule, but I can't keep up with it for more than a week.

I'll definitely use your pinboard for inspo though! Thank ye very much! (MORPHO link doesn't seem to work, might be the formatting =P )

Might work??? ๐Ÿฅด

If not, googling MORPHO pdf Simplified should bring up the one! There's a couple others ppl have uploaded too! Not sure which are missing bc I ended up just buying all the physical copies after a while lmao

Good luck :)) I love your animations and can't wait to see how your work continues to evolve!!!!
