in the fangame I'm playing, it's fished out of a river (or bought). but seaweed requires water that is at LEAST brackish. and here's the thing: gensokyo has no shoreline or coast of any sort. this is known! it is entirely landlocked. where are they getting the seaweed

i mean, it's a world where the number of gods just arbitrarily roaming around is (currently) in the double digits, so i'd argue there's next to nothing that can be too bizarre in general. as far as which god? assume trees count as residents of gensokyo: seems fairly chimata-esque to craft little sheets of seaweed like ability cards and pawn them off in the marketplace. but it's extraordinarily common for seaweed aquaculturists nowadays to begin rearing inside artificial pools, no reason why you couldn't finish the process with a big enough facility
a good response. i wasn't sure how feasible artificial seaweed aquaculture would be with the technology level of gensokyo, but i guess the kappa could probably do it? someone on Twitter proposed that it was brought over by Yukari
