I FINALLY finished Darragh's new reference sheet! (Darragh [pronounced as "dar-uh"] is my Dullatroll TTRPG character who I now plan to use for a story of his own!)

His original reference sheet was made in 2020, & he's changed quite a lot since then, so a new reference sheet was very much needed! I started working on this September 2022 & FINALLY finished it April 2024. Most of that was spent drawing him, but after setbacks of my waterproof outlining ink not acting waterproof, a dog's death, & making some of his colors too dark, getting puppies to replace the dead one, HE'S DONE. Turns out, he needed to be a little darker & I wasn't ready for it in 2023, so instead of completing the traced version I made to 100% remake his ref sheet, I just colored the OG sheet's fur & hooves a little darker to match the skin; which is what I had colored too dark in 2023. Now everything's even, he's a little more saturated, & HE'S DONE! (He's always been a lighter colored character, so if he seems very light to you, that's probably why! Just know he used to look more faded, lol.)

I recently finished redesigning Tombstone, & updated their reference sheet accordingly! (& plan on lightly touching up Graves’ design soon too! Mostly his face shape & maybe eye size!)

For anyone wondering why I changed their design (since I think folks really liked their 1.0 design, looking at how many people drew them during Artfight in 2023!), it’s because their old design didn’t fit the type of story Tombstone is a part of! It was just a bit too “lighthearted/cartoony,” & the story they’re a part of isn’t quite as colorful or fun as that initial design seemed to suggest.

Plus, I came up with a lot of ideas for Tombstone since I made their initial reference sheet (looking at things by tilting their head like a bird eyes on the sides of their head, the ghost markings acting as an intimidation tactic via displaying their tail sorta like a peacock, a much plumper body type, part of their head being furred similarly to how some Turkey Vultures look with little hairs/feathers darkening the back half of their heads, & the marking around their face is meant to be a similar shape/outline to a mink’s skull’s eye socket & upper jaw!)

So, instead of looking like a fluffy ghost-dragon-weasel, they now look like a fluffy & chunky harbor seal-weasel with a furred cobra hood tail! I think they look a little more like Graves’ Shadow Mount (the muted teal Dullatroll standing between Tombstone’s front & side profiles in the first image above!) without the horns since Graves doesn’t have any horns either & they’re now a darker grey, which matches Graves’ fur color values better!

(I actually had to make Tombstone’s new tail out of paper to understand how it & the ghost markings look when it’s relaxed!)

Here's a reference sheet for Banjo that shows off those new Mourning Dove inspired colors, as well as show off their tail & wing feathers!

In order of when I made their reference sheets, the nude version actually came first! (It’s easier to add clothing to a character afterwards than it is to remove clothes!)

I FINALLY made a reference sheet for Banjo, a character I’ve had since 2018! They’ve went through multiple design changes, & I think they look pretty cool now, now inspired by a Mourning Dove for their colors & some of their markings!

I also included Banjo’s magical satchel for size comparison (Banjo is smol!) & some close ups on what some of their clothing looks like since they have wings that would need to be accommodated for!
