itâs wednesday again! we remain slammed with a combination of support queues, the 3pm daily âsite slow for no reason again,â and going through applications for the support ops role!
speaking of which, if you missed that announcement yesterday, weâre hiring! come work with us!
queue note: there are currently over 25,000 of you on the waiting list! weâre doing our best to activate 1,000 users per business hour as long as the moderation load remains doable. please do not send in bug reports about your place in the queue if your problem is simply âwhy am i still unactivated,â as this quite literally makes the wait longer. thank you so much for your patience, and keep in mind that while youâre unactivated, you can still follow users, edit your profile, and share posts.
on to the patch notes:
- UNDISCOVERABLE FEATURE: you can now Quick Share posts by holding shift while clicking the share button!
- RELATED: we enabled a new animation to support this. we are as of yet unsure how this will impact the CSS meta.
- minor profiling and logging changes so we can ban Bad Bots more easily
- iâd say âyou know them when you see themâ but for real you actually do know them when you see them.
- the user allegedly running Firefox 62 spamming every single possible variation of âbig boobsâ as a page name is Probably not a real person and has been prevented from accessing cohost. sorry man but we gotta save those for the good faith boobposters
- updated the tags page to hide shares
- we talked about this some on monday, but this is to prevent users from adding tags onto a share and giving it a very different audience than what OP intended
- weâre going to make some tweaks here, starting with âshares made by OP will still show upâ
- tried and failed to land a major change to how our code is laid out
- we first attempted this on friday. while the deploy was a success, there were bugs introduced that we hadnât already noticed. we rolled back until we know everythingâs fixed for sure
- made changes to how we ban users
- prompted by us receiving reports for a user we had already banned. we appreciate your vigilance, but now you can see if weâve already suspended a user
update on the ToS and community guidelines changes: the ToS changes are in progress, the ball is currently in our lawyerâs court here. weâre pretty close to a final draft of the community guidelines, at which point weâll have some other people review and make sure weâre not missing anything obvious.
hereâs whatâs coming up:
- the ability to hide comments on your posts!
- if you see something that is a violation of the community guidelines, report it! if itâs someone being obnoxious but not in a rule-breaking way, hide it!
- implementation of this is done and weâre just finishing up tests.
- bookmarked tag feed! seriously! i promise!
thanks for using cohost!
may they be reserving every variation of big boobs up in the great kingdom in the sky đ
