we had to stand around and wait to slowly be let into the large, empty waiting room; this process took about forty minutes, almost all of which could had been spent sitting down had they elected to allow us to do so. however, had that occurred, i would not have had the pleasure of meeting two people:
one: the security guard who, repeatedly, would walk down from the waiting room and appraise the line while shouting "This is HOMELAND security, not SOCIAL security!"
two: the young british man in the elevator with me who, sighing with exasperation, remarked to me that he "[didn't] see the need for all the aggression." i have never seen a man look so displeased.
all in all it could have gone a lot worse
