for a moment i thought this was an elaborate expansion of game and global phenomenon rock paper scissors. like, the united states military drafted a version of the game with nine competing positions with unique interactions. i wish this was the case because it would be the first positive contribution to society the united states military has ever made
- Both players forms a fist with one hand and cups it in the other.
- Both players chant "rock paper scissors airplane tank" while bringing their fists up and slamming them back into their palms in rhythm.
- Upon saying "tank", each player makes their fist into one of the following hand signs:
- Rock: a closed fist, perpendicular to the base
- Paper: the palm face-down on the base
- Scissors: the middle and index fingers extended, the others curled back, perpendicular to the base
- Airplane: the hand flat hovering above the base, thumb and pinky extended
- Artillery: a closed fist parallel to the base, with the index finger extended
- ADA: the hand parallel to the base with the thumb tucked underneath and the other four fingers pointed forward
- Tank: the hand parallel to the base with all fingers curled underneath
- Infantry: the index and middle fingers touching the base, the others curled back
- Antitank: the back of the hand against the base, index and middle finger extended pointing forwards
- Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, paper beats rock; airplane beats artillery, artillery beats ADA, ADA beats airplane; tank beats infantry, infantry beats antitank, antitank beats tank
- Anything in the RPS cluster beats anything in the AAA cluster, since they require careful calibrations that can be defeated by materials sabotage
- Anything in the AAA cluster beats anything in the TIA cluster, because they're all very good at blowing stuff up
- Anything in the TIA cluster beats anything in the RPS cluster, because random materials will be crushed beneath the iron heel of ground power
