(or knees, preferably.) i'm trying to figure out something i could get into that would serve as a serviceable vector for meeting people while also being something i could feasibly enjoy without significant pain. it's worth noting that my living situation is Not Great currently and neither are my finances, so, y'know, that limits things further... my current hobbies are mostly just writing, pokemon, reading, and like... urban planning and transport, which is less of a hobby and more of an interest, but, y'know. anyway, thanks

in reply to @cass's post:

my friend who moved to atlanta recently has been going to like small music venues and shit which seems to be a rlly fun social hobby, and since ur in a big city theres probably a lot of those u could check out if u want!

Suddenly every social hobby I can think of is all about hands and knees... Hm what about going to writing workshops or meetups? I've done that before and it was awkward but it felt really good to collaborate with other artists. Some of them are free.

As far as urban planning, you could become your neighborhood association rabble-rouser! Depending on where you live you can maybe find a YIMBY group to hang out with and yell with about transit.

the problem is that i'm moving in a couple months... which makes the latter suggestion difficult. i might be able to cram in a workshop or two, though! i keep meaning to do those; hopefully i can find one that is short and cheap.
