i am still doing this! luckily i am only *checks notes* over a week late on updating! hooray :3

things i have done since last post....

  • got the absolute final draft of that one short story i'd been working on since march done!! i'm waiting on some legal name change bullshit before i can submit it, but it SHOULD be ready for submission within a month or so
  • two subway sunday posts, each about a thousand words
  • four thousand words on the story i've been tentatively calling "overpass," it's some sci-fi-ish horror set in suburban new jersey
  • most of an outline of a story i've been trying to write since, uh, august 2021, christ. this particular story is one i've tried drafting twice now with little confidence each time, and i think it's 'cause the frame of the story needs work. i'm still not entirely satisfied with it but it's good to know what i need to change!

i've been slowing down recently, mostly because of seasonal depression and Holiday Malaise, but my hope is to at the very least keep steady in getting something done most days. if you've been keeping up with this or any other november-related writing project i hope it's gone well!! good luck with the last week

this has been a lot of fun so far! my approximate stats so far:

  • three thousand words of castlevania thoughts written
  • one draft of a six-month-old story edited (very near its final state!)
  • one story retooled and reworked entirely, then outlined

it doesn't look like that much when i write it out like that, but it's been a fair bit of effort and i'm very proud of it! i've been keeping a more detailed lostuwrimo journal, where i talk in depth about what i've done each day, but i probably won't post that, if only to avoid clogging people's timelines. i hope everyone who has chosen to participate is enjoying writing!! it's ok to not write a lot, or miss a day or two. it's just about building momentum and trying to keep it! good luck :3

  1. the challenge will officially be called the Local Stuff Writing Month. there is no relation to the National Novel Writing Month. i am stealing the name scheme, though, so it will be called the lostuwrimo. because that's funny.
  2. i must write something every day, and it cannot be shitposting on cohost or any other site. there will be a soft minimum of one hundred words, but if i have a really bad day and only get out a few sentences, then such is the way of things. 2b. it's worth noting that editing does count as writing, and writing is hard to measure in word counts, so, y'know, i might not always have numbers there
  3. i will post a report of what i have been writing, uh, semi-frequently throughout the month. i don't think enough people care to be particular about doing it weekly or whatever but y'know.
  4. i will post a vague description of what it is i have been writing. or i won't be vague but like y'know sometimes a girl's gotta keep her secrets
  5. i will have something ready to present by the end of the month. ideally, multiple somethings-- i suspect multiple somethings will come to fruition-- but if ultimately only one thing comes out, again, such is the way of things
  6. i will have fun :)

if you would like to participate in the LoStuWriMo (original cass creation) then go ahead! you could even tag it as such if you wanted. no pressure though this is primarily a thing for me to hold myself to >:3

@cass

i've been keeping a little journal documenting what i've written every day! i think it would be cool if others did the same, so it's obvious how much you wrote during the month! hopefully this can serve as a motivational tool both during and after november... you can look back and see what you've done and feel proud + know you're capable of keeping on!

i personally think i'll probably share my journal weekly, just for fun, but of course not everyone has to do that. i mean nobody has to do anything but like you get it
