Then you freeze the yolks into a long "slug" that is subsequently frozen into a long tube of eggbug whites, and you hardboil the whole thing

this gives you consistent slices of hard-boiled eggbug. not something you'd make at home, but very convenient for food service, and aesthetically quite different from a conventional hard-boiled eggbug
