i liked it! it didn't do anything i haven't seen before in better games like 428 shibuya scramble and 13 sentinels: aegis rim1, but it was fully enjoyable. i would, potentially, also compare it to 999: 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors, but with the caveat that the writing in paranormasight is actually, like, good2. the script and translation are both excellent and the story is fun and weird. i think the plotting leaves a little bit to be desired, but ultimately i was just hoping it would build up to a conclusion as impressively batshit as that of 999 or 13 sentinels.
i also really appreciate both the art direction and technical art aspects of this game. the game is (clearly) made in unity and while i hate unity, paranormasight makes very good use of unity's image effect pipeline to create a unique look. it has point-and-click sections that take place in a google maps-esque cubemap of whatever location you're supposed to be in, and they do a lot of fun stuff with placing the characters physically in the space so they can do a lot more ambitious camera work in the dialogue scenes than most visual novels get to. also the art itself is very charming and unique, it doesn't have the way-too-glossy problem that a lot of anime and manga style art from the past decade or so has.
overall, i would definitely recommend it if you like visual novels or narrative games in general, and i'm glad to see big companies like square enix investing in visual novel projects still.
1: and eve: burst error and yu-no: a girl who chants love at the bound of this world, you don't have to shout them out in the comments.
2: sorry, i don't like 999 that much. the crystallization of glycerol stuff is great but the script is otherwise pretty bad.
