how many words do you need beforehand to get read more to proc correctly
or does it just not render in drafts

It doesn’t render in drafts, and I think it has to do with post height, that’s why it works with images too. Something like >2.5x width gets shortened to 1.5x? But also that means it relies on the width, which varies on the client side lol
Anyway, use three dashes with a blank line before and after to manually “read more”, which will render as a divider in drafts.
