I can appreciate the progression / buildup they're going for there, but I'm maybe a little impatient for that level of repetition! I did used to listen to Weird Jazz in the old days though if you have anything with kind of interesting rhythms :)

Hmm, how about Squid? They're newer anyway (only been releasing music since 2020, that album is from last month). If you like them consider Black MIDI (I like their first album better).

Best Jazz I've encountered recently: Physics House Band (I love tracks 1 and 3 there)

Neighborhood of Autechre / interesting rhythms: Early Autechre, which is the era I linked tends to be more approachably musical but more repetitive, as you get later they get less repetitive but much, MUCH more chaotic, you might find Confield, Draft 7.30 or Exai more interesting (but they're still a band that loves repetition lol). Also maybe worth looking at Amon Tobin or Squarepusher, both of whom are notably jazzy.

Spiritbox - A super-cool metalcore band, their first album came out in 2021
Blackbraid - Another new metal project, indigenous black metal, started in 2022
Legijata - Now this is neither new nor metal, Legijata's a hip hop collective from Skopje, Macedonia that's been doing it since 2000
Black Magic Noize - Local crew from Seattle, although Shroom's out east now. Really, really sick underground hip hop
KMFDM - Okay, not remotely obscure or new but HYËNA is the best modern industrial track I've heard in ages

Any of this strike your fancy/not your speed? I have so many recommendations, just not sure what to throw out there
