I am fully Obsessed with the idea of Irish shonen jump (not even that specifically but it's a convenient shorthand). Like in a world where comics and Irish culture had received inward looking investment from the government and arts council, and we had an ongoing weekly magazine of black and white comics aimed at a broad teen audience. GAA sports comic. Traditional music pseudo sports comic. Retelling of the fianna but they're mech warriors in the future. Manga that uses portrait of the artist as a young man for character names but otherwise bears no similarity to the book and also everyone is hot. I simply need it. I am simply demanding that rte give me the entire late late tv show budget to make it happen.
further, with how Golden Kamuy increased interest and effort toward Ainu language and culture revitalization, we should make more endangered language anime and manga
- hawaiian yuri where they build and sail a halau and visit all the islands
- near-future yakima cyberpunk (they destroy the us government)
- gubbi gubbi cooking anime
- rGyalrong shonen that gets really surreal like three episodes in and dissolves into the animators doing an avant-garde performance art piece on the dissemination of cultures
