i know that portability is a bad issue with Python, but dang does NixOS have a suckass time of running Python and getting pip packages that aren't already in Nix

it melts my brain that it was infinitely easier to rebuild my kernel from a release candidate branch with a bunch of stupid extra configuration than it was to install a dang pip package
