are there any good alternatives to Chrome?
firefox for desktop is okay, but fucking slow, so i ended up switching back to Chromium on my computer anyway
everyone talks about Chrome being Bad or whatever but i literally just want a browser that's pretty and fast and firefox is neither on mobile
honestly speaking as a firefox user, it's always been pretty fast for me on both mobile and desktop
+1, if you want the vanilla chrome experience you should stick with ungoogled chromium but if you want something more customizable and just nice (with stuff like user chrome css customization built-in) vivaldi seems to be pretty nice. its kinda like what opera used to be, but modern and more chrome-y
also i completely forgot about qutebrowser. if you like chromiums engine and vim you will love that browser. its like vimium c, which is browsing on steroids, but on even more steroids because the whole browser is built around vim's philosophy. if you're into that shit you will love qute
Duckduckgo works on Mobile, haven't used it enough on Desktop to say anything there though
So far Vivaldi has been pretty good at filtering out Google's user-hostile additions to Chromium. But there has not yet been any official word on their policy regarding the New Thing that Google is now trying to do
if you install uBlock Origin, firefox becomes faster since it's not having to load as much advertising bs
i use operagx because i still want certain chromium features and extensions, and it hasn't been too offensive so far. I think people's aversion to chromium browsers as a whole is somewhat misplaced because they don't understand that chromium doesn't equal Chrome, so really just use whatever works for you
