since twitter's burning gonna try bringing my posts about language stuff and losing my shit over star wars and such here - hi!
I want a world where those aren't the only 2 options. I miss the mid-level games.
the true final step is learning that AA was where peak happened. insane demented ideas with a terrifying amount more budget than should ever be given to them
I'm glad the mid-budget space is making something of a comeback with publishers like THQ Nordic, we need more games made by absolute fucking freaks who have one very specific idea, 20 people working with them, and way too much money and creative freedom.
ITS THE BEST, it feels like something thats going to happen as the standards for AAA continue to balloon and push anyone but the utter giants out and companies decide to play it safe in regards to not making things cost 100 million to develop
On itch.io there are many games made by only one person with interesting visions.
You should definitely help my brain-crazy ass learn how to make video games then. I don't know how, but somehow I have to figure this out. I cannot teach myself.
Hello! Our project takes time to warm up to freakiness. I think that was my mistake, shoulda gone fully freaky from the get-go
That's one thing I love about just playing random games PS2 and earlier. There's just so many games where it's just some ridiculous idea and the exploration of that idea that somehow got green-lit by a publisher. They will usually not execute this idea well, but they're always fascinating :D
