like this is actually bad game design imo bc it encourages you to spend time rummaging thru every crate, barrel, and burlap sack which is not actually fun at all

since twitter's burning gonna try bringing my posts about language stuff and losing my shit over star wars and such here - hi!
like this is actually bad game design imo bc it encourages you to spend time rummaging thru every crate, barrel, and burlap sack which is not actually fun at all
tbh i installed a weight restriction remover mod because i enjoy rifling through and literally stealing everything
i agree it's worse design but i still enjoy it :]
if I ever play through it a second time I will probably do a hoarder playthrough for funsies, you couldn't do that kind of thing in 1 & 2
rifling thru things can be fun just to see what items they put in the game and all the item descriptions, but I end up feeling compelled to do it in a way that distracts from the narrative I guess. The most annoying part is the inventory management when getting encumbered, so my preference for games is generally to either have no encumbrance limit or to have a much more restrictive one
i mean you're not alone that you feel compelled to, but at least the game eventually opens up in terms of money eventually and it was easier for me to ignore it at that point
i would really just prefer no encumbrance rules for meaningless sellable items though, the only kinds of things that make sense is worn equipment, magic items, and interactably usable items. i noticed even gold has weight recently and had a very overly strong reaction
yeah gold having weight is a weird thing to keep from 5e when they break a lot of other 5e rules (eg you can cast multiple leveled spells per turn)
