wowee this game. throws a lot at you. it's like lying directly underneath the faucet of elder scrolls

can't get over the game's trick of presenting everything extremely flatly and also all at once. tell me about spies. tell me about foreigners. tell me about this city. what is skooma. tell me about guild guides. tell me about silt striders. what is vivec. what is the inner sea. what is foyada mamea. what is the sixth house. where can i buy armor. do you want to join the thieves guild.

heyyy uhhh akavir????????????

i basically do not believe one shred of what these people are saying about akavir. i think this is a mangled combination of mythmaking and xenophobia and it's extremely funny. the book begins "now as we all know tamriel is the nexus of the world, where all the main events have happened and will happen. now over there? that's ice hell, ruled by one thousand snakes"

I'm imagining the mindset of the NPC who is being asked all these questions. I'm imagining what I'd do if someone came up to me and said "Hello, I just came to your country from across the ocean. What is the 'Gulf of Mexico'? Where can I buy 'sneakers'? Tell me about 'the Mafia'"

no time to explain motherlover, take a hit off this Skooma pipe and get on the silt strider - also people are going to call you "the Nerevarine" now, don't get weirded out about it

I just gotta say
you are the first person, out of a lot of people vividly discussing over the past decade the most popular subject of Elder Scrolls Discourse, to have potentially sold me on "the metaphysics of The Arena are not real". It's not a coincidence that you're also the first person I've seen bring any social consciousness into the conversation.

(I say that, but I'm also just at the point where I'm tired enough of the discourse now to say, "fine, whatever, you can interpret these weird metaphysics out of Todd Howard's hit franchise The Elder Scrolls. We have the same ideas in Elysium now anyway.")
