My partner is getting chest reduction surgery in about a month. Any tips or pieces of advice of what you found particularly helpful during your recovery so far?

GET ANTIHISTAMINES AND KEEP THEM ON HAND. i don't know if it's like this for everyone but about a week and a half out from surgery the itching started going completely crazy for me. i messaged my surgeon about it and their PA told me to take benadryl, which made me completely fucking miserable; i ended up putting every medication i'm on into a medication interaction checker along with 3 separate non drowsy 24 hour antihistamines and taking all 3 staggered throughout the day.

i'm down to just taking 2 of them now. even the non drowsy ones will still maker them a little drowsy if they take more than one but still, better than benadryl, the misery medication.

it helps to have one of those medication lid timers on your painkillers so you don't have to do math about when it's safe to take more.

you'll def want bendy straws!
