I went in to this video thinking it might just be about a very unfortunate failure case with specific circumstances, but this is actually just a straight-up cat guillotine that has killed several cats already. I was astounded at how badly this thing is engineered. Worse, the manufacturer seems to be disappearing evidence of cats who were harmed or killed by their product, instead of, you know, fixing it.
The video is very upsetting to watch, so consider not actually watching it if you're not actually in the market for a self-cleaning litter box and need to know what to avoid (fwiw the video creator has reviewed a bunch of these in the past and says that aside from this egregious example, most of them are pretty safe at the very least), but please do share and get the word out about these things before someone else loses a cat to them.
