I'm really enjoying the part of the Talmud that we're at right now in daf yomi

Basically like, okay so the question is raised; at what point is a transaction finalized? when has one object truly changed from one hand to another? The answer given is that of course there must be a sale, but for objects of tangible value there must also be a mishakah (lit. pulling towards). the buyer must bring the object towards themselves and in doing so they have finalized the transaction. Hagbaha (lifting above your head) is of course the most preferable sign of acquisition as it most clearly shows agency and ownership but pulling works just as well

The next question is raised, well, what about a ship? Do you have to pull a ship towards you to obtain it? How far?

And uh, it's a very heated and long argument that follows haha
