still trying to come to terms with leaving this place imminently but on a practical note, I'd appreciate any advice/recs on slapping up a personal site. I've been procrastinating on this for years and hoped I could skate by using cohost for a while longer, but now that is at an end. I have a domain through Squarespace (formerly through google domains), but realistically I don't need any of the ecommerce shit I'd be paying for if I hosted through them, too, so it seems like a good time to set up someplace else. how's Wordpress doing these days? I have the most experience working with it out of all the major competitors (and could even use some of this new css knowledge whahey), but any major areas of concern I should look out for? I've seen some approving posts here about NearlyFreeSpeech but I don't have the expertise to build a page myself between now and October 1 and money is tight enough that I'd prefer not to hire a designer right off the bat. would be mostly for highlighting my portfolio and non-Them projects/blogging as I occasionally did here.
thanks computer nerds you're the best
