now i know what you're thinking. "wait, nekoweb is static web hosting, how are you doing forms?" It's simple. Instead of having the nekoweb server handle the comments, I've actually trained a neural net over many years to parse and upload comments to the -- it's email, you click "submit" and it opens a mailto: link with your comment filled in to the email body and my email as the address (with some obsfucation to hopefully deter spammers*). and then i'll probably add the comment to the page it's on when i see the email
realising I'm really out here inventing new web technologies like "guestbook, but you have to do it manually". i'm sure there's a reasonable way of doing this where you offload it to some external service and just embed it with an iframe but this is funny to me. i'm graduating from css crimes to static website crimes
*editing this post now to point out that i realise the obsfucation puzzle i picked had two obvious answers and the wrong one was more obvious. if you've left a comment already, you might want to do it again because i have not gotten it lol
