@frostsparks asked:

I would really like to ask, if you're willing,,
Would you share some of the april fools day ideas you & the team had planned for cohost? I've only been using the site for a year and never got to experience any

ONES THAT WE ACTUALLY DID:

  • Tumblr theme (we only had 50 users at this point because it was in the alpha window. joke for us and 50 of our friends and no one else)
  • Numbers™️

ONES THAT I WANTED TO DO (in no particular order, mostly collated from searching the work chat):

  • cohost battle pass
  • all posts must be constructed using mentions. if you want to use a word that isn't a page yet too fucking bad. no new pages allowed for that day (this one was never going to happen but i proposed it)
  • font replaced with jokerman (i actually have a screenshot of that one)
  • the heap
  • full screen ad for The Boys season 2
  • new markdown element that makes a quote look way fancier so you can pass it off as authoritative
  • factions and a reputation system
  • new accounts start off following a bunch of bot accounts like it's your first fortnite match
  • randomly assigned verification checkmarks with no indication as to what they represented
  • that one tweet about requiring users to list what kind of milk they drink
  • Council of Advisors
  • cohost minus, for $3 a month you are able to to less
  • stories
  • gildan tee of eggbug drinking lean
  • this
  • tag you can only post in during certain hours of the day
  • hats
  • wide mode (preview below)

uhhhhhh that's all i can think of for now. there was never a universe in which we did the majority of these but some of them maybe. "cohost battle pass" was an ongoing joke since pre-alpha. i think Factions could have actually happened. hats came close a couple times. stories would have been really funny but a lot of work. ok bye.
