while im at it caliban is also a funny character for them to reference because he's funny and pathetic but also ultimately powerless. like he spends the entire play getting drunk with some buffoons and ends up giving up on his big plan to Get Free Of Prospero. obviously theres a ton of scholarship on him and adversarial readings and such but still lmao
