finally sat down to do some work on fg engine and made a WHOLE lotta progress on the non-gameplay aspects of the game which was exactly what i've been craving.
- added my old save system that saves your name and last room code so you dont have to type it in every time before playing online
- added and improved the menu system i wrote for cast fortune which is BANGER i'm so proud of it
- that system also enabled me to add mouse hover selection and controller/keyboard navigation so you shouldnt have to touch your keyboard to play now unless you wanna change the room code
- started working on a character select screen that is very much guilty gear strive inspired, with the 2 rows that extend on the left and right sides when new characters are added, so that no matter how many characters are added, pressing down>right>right will always take you to the same character you're used to picking :)
- fixed some breaking flow issues with leaving games and deciding what menu you return to afterwards
it feels good!!! hopefully sooner or later i'll be inspired to finish implementing the last of the basic gameplay systems so that we can get rolling with building out some of the characters we've designed. ive been drawing some in my sketchbook and i'm very excited about them :)
