REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! it makes ur life feel so much better!!!!

i used to get so self conscious about this cause people being in spaces where i was like 20/21 and everyone around me was at least 4-5 years older than me, it'd get read as naivety or immaturity. there was genuinely an element of that for sure, but primarily NO bitch i always have and always do make a conscious and active choice to respond to things with sincerity and enthusiasm! every single time! that's the kind of person i want to be. i refuse to be pessimistic and callous and aloof in the vain and insecure pursuit of appearing more mature or experienced. none of this "everything sucks even the things i like. they just have some good parts i appreciate" shit! that's an insecure person's idea of what security and maturity looks like! it might be true but good luck finding deep satisfaction and contentment in your life with that kinda outlook. i feel like as ive gotten older ive only become more resolute about thinking like this. i can see perfectly well how shit things are and how much the odds are stacked against myself and the people i care about, but i can acknowledge it when the time and place calls for it without dwelling on it being my baseline mode of engagement with it. hell id argue that even if the world wasn't so chaotic and life wasn't so short then it'd still be a worthwhile effort to be as sincere and enthusiastic about the things you care about as possible! why waste your own time and emotional energy trying to impress people with detachment and sarcasm and pessimism! respect yourself some more! expect to trust in the people around you some more! there are so many encouraging and lovely people out there!
