Cheers to:
- The fact that I not only completed my reading goal of the year, but that I also surpassed it by 3
- That I went from reading 0-2 books a year at best to 9, this time around
- That the book I just finished in the last hour of New Years Eve I started all the way back in July of 2021, and it took me so long to get through because the last year and half has been so hectic and felt like it's passed by in a blink. But despite this I still surpassed my goal, and completed it.
- That I initially wanted to aim for 12 books, and then 10, but paid attention to how exhausted I was and made a healthy decision to not put that pressure on myself and either cause myself unneeded stress or ruin this celebration prematurely if I didn't meet a stretch goal. Finishing this last book the last day of the year was still a challenge, but it was one I was a lot better suited to undertake.
- Unrelated but while I'm chosting I might as well mention we got pomegranates from our food pantry and I'm excited about them because I have never had a pomegranate before :]
May do some posting about the books I've read or something at a later date, but now I guess the only question is: What do I aim for next? Do I keep it at six and just make stretch goals as needed? Challenge myself to read 10 in 2023 to start with? Chill out and just read casually and give myself at least a month to revel before setting any specific goals?
