A reminder that if you have any say at all in choosing a doctor or where to go, always look at reviews, for the location and that provider.
CW: Medical Malpractice for what inspired this post.
Scheduled an appointment recently to get my PCOS under control, really just needed a birth control prescription and I figured I'd see to anything else depending on quality of care. Had a bad feeling. Eventually went and looked and not only is the women's health nurse I was set to see the provider I've seen called out the MOST by name for this budget clinic across multiple locations, by a large margin, but accusations are serious, ranging from:
"Told me to stop 'overreacting' about my endo symptoms in the first 2 minutes of our visit" to "Triggered a relapse after I asked her not to bring up weight because I was 30 pounds over due to the very condition I went to see her about that she was determined to lecture me on" to "Her neglect resulted in a miscarriage" to "She ignored my pain and went as far as to mock me and treat me like a drug seeker and I ended up having stage 3 cancer"
but lemme tell you being in a committed relationship with a woman rapidly disintegrated my trust in the people running our healthcare system. The shit doctors/nurses/etc will say to women (and minorities) in response to testimony about their own bodies is fucking infuriating
also no "man" should be a gynecologist I'm just saying
