my submission for cohost draws
prompt #01: "love at second sight"
(link to the summary post)

I wasn't able to think of anything for this, for a while. But a conversation with a game friend reminded me that I used to be VERY freaked out by my now beloved wiggly darkness creatures from Sky. I had a 180° change of opinion about them and then forgot about it.... head truly empty.

The art here took a quiet and contemplative turn, but my early days in Sky were more like, uhh...
little drawings of a new player running from and being attacked by a dragon
It was a little stressful, with the dragons, back then.

Huge agree!! I keep changing "Krill" into "Dark Dragons" for my posts... :eggbug-sob: it just seems easier for non-players to understand if I do it this way...

You can really feel the love from the community in "krill". In other languages too.... I love to translate a message and see people around the world are calling them prawns, shrimp.....

I found this entry very intriguing and it's a very nice piece too.
You made me want to look up what that Sky thing was and I think I remember, it's a newer game from the people who made Journey, right ?
I'll have to look it up one of those days, I wonder if it's playable offline too.

Thank you very much! You remembered correctly, Sky is Journey's weird little sibling. :host-joy: The dragon pictured here is sort of the narrative equivalent to the aggressive machine creatures in the underground section of Journey. And it's online only, alas. :eggbug-pensive:

you always manage to make the most impressive art, and it always leaves me feeling... a sense of awe. like better versions of the covers of scifi books. yours have substance and a personal, human connection

oh gosh 🥺 that's a huge compliment....

I think the connection thing is what I'm really passionate about. Seeing it from others and making it, when I can... :host-plead: so I'm really happy, thank you.
