Yep, having total meltdowns over unimportant things but in a real emergency? Completely calm.
I dunno how accurate this is, but I've heard it said that ADHD makes it hard to engage with a task or info unless it is urgent, fun, or challenging. Which tracks with how much trouble I have getting important things done without a deadline, but when I'm writing up formulae for a roleplaying game, or scrambling to deal with an emergency, everything clicks and I'm hyperproductive.
So yeah, basically this!
(Also worth mentioning, I'm not actually diagnosed by a doctor, just by a million and one neurodivergent friends of mine who all insist I definitely have got some flavor of ADHD)
