“wait a minute…this lesbian bar doesn’t have a fire exit!” is one of the all time simpsons jokes. god dude y’all ever heard about this show. i guess if you watched this every night for years and also read a fuckload of terry pratchett books as a child it would probably shape the way you think about humor forever or something like that

ITT post your favorite simpsons or terry pratchett jokes. sorry if this takes off and it clogs up your timeline but the nice thing is you can silence this post rather than writing a bitchy little complaint about it merely because you refuse to engage with a basic feature of the website. yes i’m feeling kinda punchy why do you ask. anyway my other favorite one is hank scorpio’s “sorry it’s not in packages.” little obvious but it’s really good

I also really like "Let the bears pay the bear tax! I pay the Homer tax." "That's the home owner's tax."

the line from past it's prime that I say to myself constantly is: "food, fun, & fashion. the mall has it all"

maybe the joke i think about (that I got at the time. sorry sneed's) is:
Lisa: Mom, dad, Bart's dead!
Marge & Homer in unison: [gasps]
Bart, sitting up: Dead serious about going to Itchy & Scratchy World

for reasons that will literally require extensive therapy to unpack, the particular enunciation of "ho-mo-sexual" Marge uses in the John Waters ep is forever stuck in my brain and still goes through it on the regular to this day.

The two that fondly cohabitate in my brain forever are:

Joey Joe Joe Jr. Shabadoo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dbi3--k4SM) because it's such a fun take on a cliche and it also has the added bonus of being funny in every language. (Spanish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNUAuz_tn58)

And "the finger thing means the taxes" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8SYQ1u2m7E) is also great accurate political commentary, and the part where the guy jumps out the window and back in really takes advantage of it being a cartoon.
