this is definitely just my own behavior on social media i do not post this as saying the tides are meaningfully shifting this way but i am seeing so much new and interesting art on here from artists i never knew that i am now following whereas i simply don't look at twitter anymore and if i open the bluesky tab once every week i scroll past everything before closing it 10 seconds later because what art there is there is sandwiched between garbage

is there enough of a critical mass here to make a living? idk. but i'm seeing stuff here i'd never see elsewhere because those platforms just arent built that way

I'm definitely getting that impression as well!
Making a living here is a... dubious thing at best right now as you said, but in terms of a social media that is built in a way to show variety and allow discoverability within one's own interests while encouraging engaging with what you find it's been a god send!
