See the thing is, with something like Unity, it's not like people are going to bail out overnight. If you're three years into developing a game in Unity you are likely going to finish that game in Unity even if Unity Technologies says they're going to come to your house and peel off a fingernail every three months.
But the company is simply so damn curious to see what the breaking point is!! They keep giving people more and more reasons to leave with every ridiculous ass-pull decision they make. Eventually they're going to see an exodus and the company will go under and some CEO will walk away with too much money and blame it all on a changing market or something
I dunno, I'm nowhere near the point with my games where I have to worry about the revenue share stuff, but alongside the heavy investment into AI and the lack of focus on, idk, anything else - workflow improvements, bugfixes, whatever... it's frustrating. Anyway. Never count on a corporation to do you any favors, especially one with investors to please
this is the man who wants your money
