After a chaotic two weeks for Unity developers, the engine-maker has begun rolling out updates to its planned Runtime Fee policy, hoping to restore goodwill with customers and the game development community. In our new and exclusive interview, Unity Create president Marc Whitten now says the company wasn’t “taking enough feedback” about the potential negative impact of Runtime Fees and that he's learned a lot in the past week and a half after having more direct conversations with impacted game developers. But will this about-face be enough?
