the tech industry is just eating itself whole trying to continue the growth it saw as a new industry. we pass the diminishing returns of useful new tech from waves of cash flowing into the tech industry and now they are trying to squeeze more money out of a system they already monopolized so the only option is to wring more out of the customers they already have.
the tech industry stopped innovating new useful things to make money and started innovating new ways of making money regardless of consequences.
like other than tiktok ive basically dropped new social media in favor of cohost because its old internet style makes it better to me. i use firefox defaulted to duck duck go because it reminds me of older google where i knew how to search and get what i wanted because it was a simple and useful tool instead of a money making algorithm. part of this might be me getting old and not wanting to change my tech habits, but also i just crave the internet before capitalism realized what it could do with it.
its not an age thing, i have the same setup, except i dont use tiktok. cohost is it for me, firefox and duckduckgo on every device i own
