10 hours into Cyberpunk 2077 and what really strikes me is that despite also being a buggy mess on launch, Saints Row 5 was more stable and showed way more heart

CP77 is fine. i do not feel like i am wasting my time playing it. the art design and visuals are incredible. it is scratching a certain itch for being edgy and gritty in a corporate dystopia. it is also clearly a product of that corporate dystopia, not a response to it

I’ve been wanting to revisit 2077 since the new raytracing update looks fucking gorgeous but a lot of the game does feel pretty relentlessly hollow

also I got so tired of some of the billboards—yeah it’s realistic that ads for eating ass would be everywhere but sometimes it’s worth sacrificing a little realism

Or like, let the art team loose and make more unhinged billboards so we at least could have variations of eating ass and any distinctive brand motifs turns into white noise. But each of those ads probably actually had a full concept and review cycle like a real advertising firm would do it, again doing exactly the thing that the genre is critiquing 🤷‍♀️
