What's a curse which, if inflicted upon someone, they would never notice it or be able to give it a name, but it would still completely ruin their life?

  • curse that removes 100 calories from everything eaten
  • curse that adds 100 calories to everything eaten
  • curse that causes sleep apnea-like poor sleep due to bad breathing but doesn’t manifest in snoring
  • curse that makes air quality 25% worse as it passes through the sinuses
  • curse that makes people secretly agree more often with your doubts you have about yourself
  • curse that makes you more passive aggressive
  • curse that makes you think your phone is buzzing more often than it is
  • curse that delays your notifications anywhere between 0 seconds to a whole day
  • curse that randomly raises the hairs on the back of your neck when you walk into rooms
  • curse of one day you wake up as a cockroach

Everyone you meet gets inexplicable mildly bad vibes from you. Not enough to ever say anything or manifest in negative action, just enough to dislike you.*

*I spend a lot of time dwelling on this scenario because it is frequently a subject of my own paranoia

A curse that makes everything just a little bit off. A bit too small of a car, a shelf just a bit askew, a door that is just too narrow and a bit too short. Coffee that is just a bit too hot, a lawn that is a little too overgrown. Everything a bit askew, but not enough that it would seem abnormal to the cursed. A curse that accumulates to a crescendo of one bad day.

sure, but it seems to me, its equally frustrating for the person experiencing it, because they dont understand why theyre failing, or not advancing, or being overlooked. all their best efforts and clearly amazing displays of skill are underappreciated, no audiences appreciate the full depth of their art, and none of their team mates are ever in the right position to capitalize on their expert plays. i think its probably a curse to have a hard time self reflecting.

just a bit of chronic fatigue. every day is a struggle to get through, every time they get home from work they’re too tired to do anything, every little thing they do is just harder than it should be. they tell themself, “im just lazy, i just need to buck up and push though this”.

Honestly the Curse of Knowledge is a classic one that I didn't know about until I randomly stumbled into the name for it. It's the fact that by being knowledgeable about a given subject (or in general), you then lose touch with other people who aren't and can't communicate clearly.
