I like the implication that a later developer decided that there are some animals which don't even have 0 legs, but where the concept of legs doesn't even make sense.
"But if you're using it properly-" Unfortunately, in production you usually can't just go back and rewrite things when your assumptions change. So you make workarounds. And eventually end up with a pile of spaghetti. You can have the best programmers with the best of intentions and you'll still end up with spaghetti at the end because this is the real world and the real world is messy.
