Not to be posting about the other site too much, but I’ve been exclusively seeing promoted tweets for NEOM the past two days. This suggests the final form of twitter will be an advertising platform for Saudi Arabia, which would be hilarious and upsetting in equal measure. NEOM is the “line city” you may have heard about being built in SA, supposedly the city of the future. They seem to be setting the place up as a big playground for rich people, kinda like Dubai was doing, and trying to get people to film there to increase the visibility and status of the city.
There’s been good coverage of NEOM on trashfuture but I’m on my phone right now so it’s hard to find sorry!
