as twitter slowly but surely meets its untimely demise it's been a bit disorienting (and disheartening, obviously)...like a lot of folks, i don't think i'd be where i am today without the bird site. it's hard to see it deteriorate, which is why i still check it and post every so often.

at the same time it's been interesting to see where people go. i'm trying to keep up with as many folks as i can so i end up jumping around three or four of the more popular sites among friends, sometimes to post, sometimes to just lurk and exist and enjoy the space. but it's not...entirely a bad feeling, because it reminds me of going through my usual sites and my favorite fan forums in 2006, ever-so-slightly, back when the internet was a very different place. i just wish most of these social media websites were not so blatantly "capitalist buzzword bs" because as we have learned...it can change at the drop of a hat if the CEOs are like "oh boy we're successful! time to RUIN EVERYTHING SOMEHOW!!"

personally i am trying to think about how to approach it, because i have a lot of art and thoughts to post, but do i post all of the same things, everywhere? do i try to organize them by "this one's for shitposting/this one's for longer discussions/this one's for art"? i like to share my art, but i don't always like posting complex thoughts in a place where they can easily be misconstrued. i feel bad posting art in multiple places because there are generally a core group of friends who will inevitably have to see it Several Times. but maybe i do art everywhere and stream-of-consciousness thoughts elsewhere regardless. who knows. i think there is still time to figure it out, thankfully, but i am just thinking out loud!!
