  • people like my posts here
  • people actually leave interesting, helpful, or just plain nice comments here
  • the people i follow don't disappear from my feed for not adhering to some invisible and arbitrary set of rules
  • likewise, i don't disappear from others' feeds
  • the obfuscation of numbers and emphasis on comments has created, in my experience, a much friendlier, more normal posting environment
    • which means i actually want to talk to people and comment on their cool art, and people want and do do the same for me!
      • which means i actually want to be here!
  • and it's not like i get a lot of interaction, just like, a nice amount.

if you feel the same, and are able, please subscribe to cohost plus for $5/month (or more if you feel like it).

i like it here.

god this! this is why i deeply want it to do ok! and i haven't fully found that level of community, yet, because the last 10 years of social media really fucked up my ability to enjoy talking to people on the internet. i feel like i've started reapproaching the way i used to enjoy this shit and make connections, and that i could get back there again by hanging out here, so it simply can't end now. :eggbug-devious:

It just feels different and better! It took me a while to just start commenting and reaching out to folks, but eventually I realized, "hey that's what I want people to do on my posts," so I went for it, and everyone has just been really normal and chill. Feels like everyone is really trying to be different here for the most part, and that's been nice.

yesss this is IT. i find myself coming to comment on the post itself instead of politely whispering in the tags because i dont feel like im ruining someones good cool post with my loser comment. ive gotten more interaction on here in a few days than i have in a few months on tumblr and also none of it has been clouty mean comments or mild aggression over fucking nothing

i feel tumblr has that shitty hierarchy that high school has. if ur not popular or at least have something cool to say then shut the fuck up nerd nobody cares. on cohost i can just talk to ppl
