Still have bad memories of trying to be a skunk on Twitter and minding my own business and being hounded by musk enthusiasts and other stink-seeking horndogs.
Shit about broke me, and I still can't get back into big tail headspace.

That's the important part right there.

Don't let the weird fursona police stop you from doing whatever you want

I miss it, but I just can't get back to that place.

i'm not saying to make decisions entirely to spite the common tropes

but it's fun if it works for you.

I am an entirely non-anthrpomorphic therian and I absolutely reject the desire for "return to nature" primitivism that stereoptypically comes with such a form. I am going to hunt and peck keys on my keyboard with my beak and make a capacitive claw-cap for using my phone and you can pry my podcasts and heated blankets from my cold, dead talons.

Just because I could go live in the woods doesn't mean I'd enjoy it. Don't let your form define your function.

theres a reason i lean so much into "friendly dragon who likes hanging with the humans and loafing on their sturdier rooftops and teaching them magic" and my entire recurring "kobold warren with a modern society and democratic government" bit

i'm a friendly dragon. i'm too nice to terrorize the villagers, i'll simply provide them services for a payment of the occasional goat, and show the kobolds who flock to me how to sustain themselves and guide their society towards a more equitable future rather than being a tyrant or a disinterested god

y'know, the weird thing to me on this is... skunks normally do not stink, they have a defensive spray that stinks. they hate how it smells. a skunk, by itself, just smells like an ordinary furred animal, they're a kind of weasel

anyone telling you skunks have to stink because "that's what they're actually like" is not even doing an appeal to realism, they're just full of themselves. even if they were, it doesn't matter! but you already knew this
