It's concrete backer board that you would put down before tiling a bathroom. I used it cause it has all the grooves in it that make a nice little grid. Just a few coats of gesso and the oil paint had no problem with it.

That's a pretty cool way of looking at it, unfortunately it's just a picture of someone jerking off.

I used a piece of concrete backer board which is this stuff you put down before tiling a bathroom floor. Backer board has all these grooves on it that make a grid which then makes it really easy to do all the ASCII art. Just a couple layers of gesso on it and the oil paint seemed to have no problem.
