I've been thinking about Fear and Hunger since it's had a resurgence as of late on youtube. I'm conflicted on it, because while the mechanics seem neat, and I like the general setting, good god does it try way too hard to be "edgy" by tossing in a bunch of gross shit. I've heard there's a mod now that removes the most egregious things, but I still don't know how much that helps.

From what I understand, it's possible the creator themself may have thought they went too far because from what I've heard, the sequel removes most of that shit. But its gameplay doesn't have the same randomness the first game had that I thought sounded interesting.

I dunno. An interesting sounding game marred by a high school level idea of what "dark fantasy" should be in a way that just comes across as gross. I strongly doubt I'll ever play it myself.

Also I think SuperEyepatchWolf's video does a disservice by recommending the game without giving some sort of warning about how far the content goes.
